of web as Amazon recently launched satellite with 27 satellites for its new
project. The history was made when the satellite was launched on April 27 for Kuiper
internet project via ULA Atlas V rocket from Florida United states. After the launch Amazon confirmed that all satellites
are working fine in lower earth orbit which are at 450Km of altitude. These satellites
are connected successfully with ground system and ready to make it mark.
Start of Internet Service
Basic purpose of Amazon satellite launch is to compete with
other service provider such as Starlink to provide internet service to user
across the globe. This will be done with provision of more satellite launches
expected to 80 and expending the satellites to 3236 as well. In next two year company
will continue with the launches as per requirements to retain license.
Current Dominance
Starlink, SpaceX is the main competitor for Amazon with more
than 7200 Starlink satellites functioning and providing the internet across the
globe with 50 satellite launches. Amazon will take some time to catch up with
the dominant SpaceX which has already having approval of more than 34000 satellites.
There are other competitors which are Eutelsat and Spacesail
which are in the race to develop and launch more broadband service. But
Starlink seems to be dominant at the moment with Amazon is likely to give challenge
in the coming years.
